The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.

In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Issam Abdo, the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri commended the role of the security forces in uncovering the circumstances of the abductee Ali Ashaal al-Ja'adani case and referring the perpetrators to the public prosecution and the judiciary. He further emphasized that the case of Colonel Ashaal is proceeding through legal channels.

The administrative body called on the people of the South to coalesce around the Southern Armed Forces and Security Services in the face of all attempts to undermine security and stability. It strongly condemned any attempts to weaken these forces, which represent the South's bulwark, and expressed its denunciation of all conspiracies to stir up chaos and undermine stability in the capital and governorates of the South, serving the interests of forces opposing the cause of the people of the South.

The administrative body affirmed the right of citizens to peaceful protest in accordance with law and order, while rejecting any attempts to exploit this right to undermine the security of the capital, Aden, in particular, and the South in general.

The body reaffirmed its support for any initiative aimed at empowering the people of Hadhramaut to enjoy their rights and benefit from the revenues of their governorate’s resources. Moreover, the body emphasized the need to strengthen the Hadrami Elite Forces (HEF) and rejected any attempt to de-limit representing Hadhramaut to a single component or political party, stressing that the prevailing conditions prioritize that all parties work to remove the First Military Region Forces from the Wadi (Valley) and Desert of Hadhramaut.

The body emphasized the need to follow up on the implementation of the urgent solutions matrix to halt the economic and service deterioration, as approved in the special meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by President Aidrous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).

The body considered a report from the Committee on Social Affairs and Civil Society Organizations. The report examined a range of societal issues, including the role of civil society organizations in community development in the South, the influx of a large number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) into the South, particularly Aden, and attempts by some organizations to resettle these IDPs. The report highlighted the significant burden this places on the service file and presented a series of proposals, recommendations, and solutions to address these issues.

At the end of its meeting, the body turned its attention to a document outlining a revised training and development needs assessment for the assembly's members and its administrative body. In addition to that, the previous minutes were reviewed and approved.
