Rahaf Hall in the capital, Zanzibar, witnessed this morning the first consultative meeting of the media management of the Transitional Council in Abyan Governorate, the local authority media and the independent media, in the presence of Mr. Muhammad Al-Shaqi, head of the Executive Authority, and Major General Fadl Ba’ish, commander of the special forces, Aden - Abyan - Lahj - Al-Dhalea, and Mr. Khaled Al-Abd, Vice-President of the Commission  In the governorate, and the director of the media department, Mr. Ali Saleh Al-Jadani, and Mr. Muammar Sheikh, the transitional president of Zanzibar.

 Mr. Muhammad Al-Shaqi stressed the importance of this meeting within the framework of the governorate, which represents a qualitative leap in the nature of the relationship and the stage that the political scene is going through in this country and the size of the conspiracies being hatched against the people of the south.

 He added, "It has become necessary for us to get close to each other, as we are partners in this country, and to preserve the unity and cohesion of the southern ranks, so that we can complete the journey of our people's struggle until all the aspirations of this people for freedom and the restoration of their state are fulfilled."

 Al-Shaqi indicated that we, in the leadership of the Transitional Council in the governorate, call, through this meeting, to strengthen the patriotic spirit and for the media to be at the forefront of the people, because through it awareness is formed from this lofty message.

 The Commander of the Special Forces, Major General Fadl Ba'ash, praised the media's role and efforts in the southern governorates and their response during their battles in defense of rights and the southern people and their armed forces.

 He hoped that all media efforts would continue to prevent sedition and that the pens would turn into southern reunification.

 Ba'ash added that the security services, led by the Special Forces, are in the service of the south, on land and people, and in the service of the governorate.

 

 In turn, the Vice President of the Executive Board of the Abyan Transitional Council, Professor Khaled Al-Abed noted that there are tasks that must be carried out, which is to create a positive public opinion, and the media discourse must be directed towards the desired strategy, and the goals that the people of the south aspire to achieve.

 Adding that you should sense the responsibility entrusted to you in light of this sensitive circumstance, which requires you to intensify your efforts, to promote national unity, cohesion and southern alignment.

 At the opening of the meeting, the Director of the Media Department of the Abyan Transitional Council, Mr. Ali Saleh Al-Jadani, welcomed the leadership of the Transitional Council in the governorate, represented by Mr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Shaqi, his deputy, Mr. Khaled Al-Abd, the Commander of the Special Forces, Major General Fadl Baash, and all the media brothers.

 In his speech, Al-Jaadani indicated that we look forward to making more efforts in the future, through the solidarity of all media professionals and directing public opinion that we are defending our homeland and our cause, strengthening brotherly ties and eliminating all negative phenomena that some forces are weaving against the people of the south.

 Pointing out that we hope, through this meeting, to develop a program and a plan of action, strengthening the role of the media in the province, and contribute to overcoming the difficulties in front of the media.

 The meeting included a discussion panel that touched upon the difficulties and obstacles facing media professionals, the media work in the governorate, and discussing the mechanism of ways to address them.

 The consultative meeting emphasized the unification of public opinion for the development of the province, and the fight against sedition and regionalism. The consultative meeting demanded the unification of media efforts, the establishment of a media center to obtain the correct information, as well as the issuance of introductory cards to media professionals and the establishment of a union for journalists and media professionals in two chapters. The consultative meeting demanded attention to the cultural and creative aspect, and provide possibilities  The meeting recommended the need for continuous coordination between the security services to protect media professionals.  The meeting recommended holding a consultative meeting every three months.
