On Wednesday, October 5, in the capital, Aden, the internal southern national dialogue team headed by Mr. Abdulsalam Qassem Massad, met with representatives of civil society organizations, as part of a series of meetings and consultations are conducted by the team, aimed at converging the viewpoints of all forces and political, social and cultural Southern elites .
At the outset of the meeting, the group welcomed representatives of civil society organizations, emphasizing their hoped-for role in the Southern National Dialogue, which is one of the main components of every democratic society and an important primary partner in the process of promoting and protecting human rights in all its political, economic and social dimensions, raising awareness in society, and spreading a culture of dialogue and peace, and to contribute to efforts to combat extremism, violence, and tendencies against the values of our southern society.
The team stressed the importance of the active participation of all in the Southern National Dialogue, contributing to the formulation of the Southern National Pact, and agreeing on it as a Pact and covenant governing the relations of all in the future, in a manner that achieves the principles and foundations of the modern southern civil state, and partnership in southern national decision-making.
For their part, the representatives of civil society organizations expressed gratitude for giving them the opportunity to sit at the table of the southern national dialogue, stressing the need to accommodate everyone and conduct a national dialogue with all forces and components without exception or discrimination, and to raise awareness of acceptance of the other.
Noting that the role of civil society organizations is often based on dialogue and non-violence as a means, as their role should be empowered in the current stage and the stage after the restoration of the southern state.
