President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), participated today, Saturday, in the Group of 77 and China summit sessions held on the sidelines of the COP28 Conference in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, whose official events launched yesterday, Friday.

President Al-Zoubaidi's participation in the G77+China summit comes as part of his dedicated efforts aimed at discussing the impacts and threats of climate change on the humanitarian situation in the country and mobilizing the global support required to confront those repercussions through a genuine partnership with various regional and international parties concerned with the humanitarian aspect.

It is worth mentioning that President Al-Zoubaidi arrived in Dubai on Friday to participate in the work of COP28, where he participated along with the leaders of a number of countries in the opening of the World Climate Action Summit in the presence of UN Secretary-General Mr. António Guterres.

This Conference is the highest international decision-making authority under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which meets annually to review and strengthen collective response to the threats of climate change in the world and is attended by more than 190 countries at the level of leaders and heads of state.
