Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, chaired, today, Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, a broad-based meeting that included the heads of the departments of the General Secretariat of the STC's Presidium and heads of the local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) of the STC in governorates of the South.
In the meeting, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri gave a briefing on the key developments in the situation and the internal, regional, and international movements of the STC, led by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, highlighting the Iranian-backed Houthi militia's acts of terrorism, which threaten international maritime navigation, and its ongoing attempts to undermine security and stability in the governorates of the South.
Mr. Al-Kathiri stated that the STC is well-prepared for all options to meet the aspirations of the people of the South in restoring their state and is totally determined to thwart any attempts by opposing forces to derail the aspirations and goals of our people, touching on the positive role of the heads of the Secretariat and heads of the LLEBs in working tirelessly to translate these aspirations into tangible results and compass the course of action in the different fields on the ground.
Al-Kathiri touched on the systematic practices and organized warfare targeting the people of the South at various levels, including the service and economic aspects, which aim to burden citizens to abandon their goals, reaffirming the determination to move forward in confronting whatever threatens the South and its people.
Major General Kamal Hamshari, a member of the STC's Presidium and acting secretary-general of the General Secretariat, reiterated the importance of LLEBs in governorates of the South, urging them to intensify their grassroots, political, and economic activities in all their jurisdictions, and underscored the urgency to submit work plans for review, emphasizing the immediate positive impact on all governorates.
Mr. Moamen Al-Saqqaf, a member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and head of the Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC in the capital, Aden, provided a brief overview of activities of the LLEB of the capital, Aden, and outlined the primary challenges encountered in all districts.
During the meeting, heads of LLEBs in the various governorates of the South presented a number of interventions highlighting aspects of organizational work across all levels, as well as the key challenges facing their workflow. Moreover, the meeting discussed mechanisms for coordinating work among departments and their counterparts in LLEBs across all districts and governorates and put forward recommendations to strengthen joint work in all governorates of the South.
