The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its weekly meeting today, Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.

In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Issam Abdo Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri discussed the recent developments in the worsening economic deterioration in all governorates of the South, which led to the expansion of labor strikes in a number of government facilities, sectors, and institutions in protest against the government’s inability to pay employees’ salaries for two consecutive months.

The administrative body reiterated its staunch rejection of abandoning duties by the responsible authorities and failure in finding solutions that de-limit the deterioration in the living and economic situation in the country, and the government's accumulated failures in managing the economy and its fiscal policies, as well as the deep-rooted and widespread corruption that tampers with public funds, not to mention the failure of certain governorates to remit their financial revenues to the central bank in the capital, Aden.

In another context, the body renewed its categorical rejection of any political activities organized in the capital, Aden, and the governorates of the South, which include agendas opposed to the cause of the people of the South.

At the end of its meeting, the body touched on several pressing developments on the national scene and a range of organizational topics related to the work of the Assembly's committees and took the appropriate decisions and measures.
