The Department of Women and Children in the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council held, on Thursday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in the capital, Aden, a consultative meeting with the women's departments in the coordinators of the Transitional Council in the universities of Aden and Abyan, in the presence of Mr. Fadl Muhammad Al-Jaadi, member of the Presidium and Deputy Secretary-General.
Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi delivered a speech in which he praised the role of southern women in delivering the message of the people of the south to the world in various stages of the southern liberation revolution, pointing out that southern women were proactive in the struggle and played a key role in the success of the glorious October Revolution leading to the achievement of independence on the glorious 30th of November. .
Al-Jaadi stressed that the General Secretariat is in the process of honoring the southern women activists who participated in the struggle at the outbreak of the October 14 revolution against British colonialism, as the women of the capital, Aden, had a great role at that stage through their courageous stances, and we will work to honor the first group on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Glorious National Independence Day .
Al-Jaadi praised the role of southern women in the governorates of Abyan and Al-Mahra and their influential field interaction, pointing out that southern women in Aden in the sixties of the last century had a pioneering role, and today they must regain their pioneering role.
At the end of his speech, Al-Jaadi wished success for this meeting and that he would come up with proposals that would help in strengthening the role of southern women in continuing the struggle and defending their rights.
Ms. Yasmine Musaed Hamid, Vice Chairman of the Women and Child Department, opened the meeting with a speech in which she welcomed all the attendees, noting that this meeting came within the department's action plan, sensing the importance of coordination and joint work with women's departments in the council coordinators in universities.
Musaed indicated that the University of Aden represents a fertile environment for carrying out activities that contribute to raising the capabilities of women affiliated with it or girls in various fields of life, and also helps in strengthening the southern national identity, hoping that the meeting will come out with a set of ideas that will serve as a roadmap for action by standing Facing the most important challenges and overcoming them to move towards a better future for the South.
During the meeting, the participants made a number of interventions that talked about the issues and difficulties facing the functioning of women's departments in the coordinators, and a number of proposals were presented to address these problems urgently.
