Chairman of the National Assembly receives Senior Security and Safety Adviser at the United Nations

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, praised the role of the United Nations and its active institutions in all vital and service sectors in the capital, Aden, in particular, and the south in general.
This came during his meeting today, Tuesday, in his office at the headquarters of the Assembly, with Mr. Senyu Newton Kumla, Senior Security and Safety Adviser at the United Nations, and his accompanying delegation.
Major General Bin Brik stressed the important role of the United Nations in war and peace, noting that the Southern Transitional Council looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the organization in all fields, foremost of which is combating terrorism, and supporting stability and security in the south, Yemen and the region.
The Chairman of the National Assembly delivered a brief explanation of the general situation and the various trends, and the role of the Transitional Council in solving the problems and obstacles that the Brotherhood put in front of the citizens in the south to exacerbate their suffering.
Major General Bin Brik indicated that the Southern Transitional Council strives to achieve the aspirations of the people of the south in liberation and independence, and the restoration of the state, stressing that the Southern Transitional Council accepted participating in the government to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
The Chairman of the National Assembly pointed out that the Brotherhood's wing that controls legitimacy is working in another direction that harms this partnership, which leads to widening the gap between the aspirations hoped for improving the living life of the citizens and the lived reality.
Major General Bin Brik noted that the south is fighting on several fronts, foremost of which are the daily threats of the Houthi militia, al-Qaeda and ISIS, in addition to confronting the daily war of services being practiced against the people through mismanagement of the state.
At the conclusion of his speech, Major General Bin Brik reiterated that the Southern Transitional Council, headed by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, extends its hands for peace and achieving security and stability in this strategic region.
For his part, Mr. Newton, expressed thanks to Major General Bin Brik, for the good reception, noting that their visit to the National Assembly comes as an affirmation of the fruitful cooperation between the Southern Transitional Council and international organizations working in Yemen in general and the south in particular.
He stressed that representatives of international organizations are sure of the support and backing of the Southern Transitional Council for them, by overcoming the difficulties and any obstacles they face during their work.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Daniel Lopez, Chief of Operations for the United Nations, presented the President of the National Assembly with a symbolic souvenir.
