The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that Cairo holds the Houthi militia responsible for the current escalation and obstruction of efforts to renew the truce .
It stressed the need for the militias to abandon their obstinate positions and to respond immediately to international and regional efforts to renew the truce, in a way that paves the way for reaching a permanent ceasefire and allowing for efforts for a political settlement and alleviating the suffering of the population.
The statement warned against the consequences of any party exploiting the current international circumstances to fuel the conflict, threaten the security and stability of the region and navigation routes, or attempt to seize economic capabilities.
