Yesterday, the job performance evaluation course for department managers and heads of departments at the Cooperative and Agricultural Credit Bank "CAC Bank" in the capital Aden concluded. The course lasted for three days and was held under the slogan "The Journey of Leadership from Creativity to Excellence". It was led by the Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Systems, Advisor Abdullah Al-Dharafi, during the period from June 10 to 12, under the sponsorship of the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors, the CEO Mr. Hashid Al-Hamdani.
On the final day of the course, the Deputy CEO for the Supporting Sector, Mr. Shakeeb Alywaa, spoke about the added value of this course, saying that this course is one of the most important courses and that systematic benefit has been made from it to evaluate all employees in the bank from the lower to the higher levels according to the specified targets in the operational plans, programs and activities for each employee, in order to obtain positive outputs that reflect the performance and activity of the bank. Performance management and evaluation is one of the basic processes in banks and is used in all modern institutions around the world, and the lack of a studied system negatively affects the performance of employees.
Trainer Abdullah Al-Dharafi provided a detailed explanation of the performance management and evaluation system at "CAC Bank" and what distinguishes it. He said that the system is characterized by fairness and objectivity, as it takes into account the differences in the nature of the tasks performed by the various departments and sections, and simulates the variation in performance levels among bank employees, and therefore contributes to creating a healthy work environment based on justice and equality for all employees at all administrative levels. The system includes the following characteristics and features:
- There are specific and clear standards for each group of jobs.
- There are a set of controls on the performance appraisal process, which limit the influence of the individuals in charge of the process and ensure objectivity.
- The system contains clear procedures and guidelines for the individuals responsible for the performance appraisal process.
- The system is practical, such that it forms an effective and uncomplicated tool that is easy to use.
- All employees are evaluated based on the management by objectives and results approach.
- The system ensures the employee's participation in the performance appraisal process in terms of exchanging views and suggestions, and the employee's ability to view the appraisal results.
Additionally, Mr. Mansour, the Human Resources and Performance Development Manager at KACB Bank, stated that the bank is constantly training its employees to keep pace with the developments in the banking industry, and enhancing its competitive capabilities at the local and international levels, by focusing on providing a strong human cadre reinforced with contemporary banking experience.
