The STC Secretariat Discusses Economic Landscape and Semi-Annual Performance Report of 2024

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Sunday, in the capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Haidara al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Secretariat.


The Secretariat shed light on the recent developments on the Southern national scene, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to protect the gains made by the people of the South and highlighting the importance of maintaining social peace and stability amid these challenges facing our just cause.


The meeting reviewed a report on the economic and service landscape in the South during the month of July of the current year, which touched on a range of economic and service challenges, including the impact of the reversal of recent Central Bank decisions and the rising cost of fuel and their representations on the lives of citizens in the South.


In addition to that, the Secretariat discussed a semiannual performance report of its departments, local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) in the governorates of the South, and coordination bodies at the universities during the first half of 2024 submitted by the organizational department, which included the most prominent activities implemented, the difficulties and challenges faced, and ways to develop and promote performance and overcome challenges to achieve the goals and aspirations of the people of the South.


The Secretariat reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous meeting after incorporating the raised remarks. Furthermore, weekly activity reports and a report on staff work discipline during the past week were presented.
