STC Media Authority Unveils Launch of Website and Publication of Book for First Tourist Guide to the Capital, Aden

Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the official spokesman of the STC, met today, Monday, in his office in the capital, Aden, with university youth Khamis Abdullah Khamis, Qayid Mansour Mohammad, and Wael Mohammed Nasr, the team preparing the Aden tourist guide as a final-year project at the Faculty of Media, University of Aden.

Al-Awlaqi lauded the project, which explores Aden's rich tourist, historical, cultural, and service-related landmarks. He highlighted the need to transform it into a practical project that can serve as a comprehensive tourist guide, accessible to all relevant tourism, service, and cultural authorities, as well as local, Arab, and foreign visitors. Therefore, this guide would effectively showcase Aden's unique tourist and cultural identity as a must-visit destination.

In the meeting, the head of NSMA approved the launch of a website and the publication of a book for the first tourist guide to the capital, Aden, as it was proposed by a group of young people in their final-year project at the Faculty of Media.

Al-Awlaqi has affirmed that this support and patronage come within the framework of encouraging the STC and NSMA to support young creatives in their innovative initiatives to solidify and shape the identity of the South, including the heritage and civilization of Aden, asserting that Aden, a city steeped in history and civilization, deserves all our concerted efforts and a proactive approach to historical, tourism, cultural, and humanitarian documentation and of our beloved South as a whole.
