The Political Commission (PC) assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting for the second half of October today, Wednesday, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, deputy head of the PC.
In its monitoring report, the PC reviewed the most recent political developments on the Southern scene, noting the impact of regional and international developments on the political situation of the South, as the report focused on international and international efforts related to the political process in the country, which reflects the growing interest in developments in the region and their impact on stability and civil peace in the South.
The PC also listened to a comprehensive report on the military scene by Brigadier General Fadl Maabad, Head of the Moral Guidance Division of the Southern Ground Forces, which touched on the military situation on the various border fighting fronts against the Houthi militia.
Consequently, the PC emphasized the importance of heightened security vigilance by security services and citizens alike in order to preserve the hard-won gains and achievements made and to enhance security and social peace in the capital, Aden, and throughout the governorates of the South.
In another context, the PC discussed displacement dossier, both driven by humanitarian factors and political unrest, towards the governorates of the South, recognizing the need for in-depth studies to assess the scale, causes, and impact of this displacement on infrastructure and public services. It also underscored the importance of concerted efforts to mitigate the effects of random displacement on local stability.
Furthermore, the PC reviewed the dire deteriorating living conditions, including the outbreak of epidemics in the capital, Aden, and other governorates of the South, emphasizing the importance of taking urgent measures to improve healthcare services and mitigate the deteriorating living conditions that negatively impact the lives of citizens.
During its meeting, the PC discussed the issues facing teachers and the challenges that have been overburdening them amid the country's complex economic conditions and called on the government to fulfill its responsibility towards teachers and address their concerns within the framework of improving working conditions and the education process and enhancing the level of services provided in this vital sector.
At the end of its meeting, the PC reviewed a range of topics on its agenda, approved the previous minutes, and would submit its suggestions and recommendations.
