The official spokesperson for our Southern Armed Forces, Major Mohamed Al-Naqeeb, confirmed that the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda has been unable to withstand or maintain its positions since the launch of the "Eastern Arrows" and "Southern Arrows" operations in the Abyan and Shabwa governorates.

In a statement to the Russian Sputnik News Agency, Al-Naqeeb said: "Our Southern Armed Forces have managed to destroy the terrorist organization’s infrastructure and take control of its camps, most notably the Omran Valley camp in Abyan Governorate, along with other strategically important camps in Shabwa Governorate. Dozens of its members were killed and expelled from the areas that had been used to subjugate the people of the South and suppress their will, in an attempt to falsely associate terrorism with the South and its identity."

Major Al-Naqeeb pointed out that the terrorist organization is attempting to prove its existence by using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) through its infiltrating elements from Yemen’s Al-Bayda Governorate into Abyan and Shabwa, explaining that these elements carry out ambushes against patrols of our Southern Forces participating in "Eastern Arrows" operations, then retreat to hideouts provided by the Houthi militias in Al-Bayda.

He added, "There are parties working to reorganize the defeated elements of the organization, providing them with weapons and support, including the release of its members from prisons in Sanaa as part of deals that confirm the strategic relationship between the Houthis and Al-Qaeda. These movements aim to redirect Al-Qaeda’s elements towards the South, leading to a limited resurgence of the organization, manifested in planting IEDs and setting up ambushes before fleeing."

In conclusion, Major Al-Naqeeb confirmed that our Southern Armed Forces have succeeded in crippling the organization's capabilities and undermining its maneuvers. However, the organization currently benefits from logistical support provided by the Houthi militias, including drones, remote-detonation devices, and heat-seeking missiles. A recent UN report highlights this support, underscoring the continuing security challenges in confronting terrorism and its financiers.
