This morning, Wednesday, the Arab Network for Scientific Journalism honored the Acting Chairman and CEO of the Cooperative and Agricultural Credit Bank (CAC Bank), Mr. Hashid Al-Hamdani, in recognition of the bank's prominent role in supporting sustainability and environmental projects over the years.
This recognition came on the sidelines of CAC Bank's participation in the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP16), held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 2-13, 2024.
During the event, attended by a group of businessmen, journalists, and environmental activists, the Chairman of the Arab Network for Scientific Journalism, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shamiri, delivered a speech in which he praised CAC Bank as the only Yemeni financial institution to seriously adopt environmental issues, emphasizing the importance of this step given the environmental challenges facing Yemen and the world.
For his part, Al-Hamdani expressed his happiness with this recognition, which acknowledges the bank's years of efforts in supporting sustainability and clean energy programs in Yemen. He also expressed his gratitude for the role of the press and the arts sector in supporting these fields.
Young filmmaker Jamal Maawdhah, representative of the Green Films Initiative, explained the importance of media and art in highlighting the efforts of institutions and companies working in the fields of sustainability, environment, and climate.
The ceremony was also attended by Yemeni private sector representative, businessman Mohammed Jamil, Mr. Abdul Malik Al-Namri, Chairman of Voices of Green, and Ms. Maha Al-Budhani, representative of the National Forum for Sustainable Development.
