The Southern Transitional Council Presidency held its regular meeting on Thursday, chaired by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Council and President of the National Assembly, with the presence of the Council's ministers and heads of its bodies.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Presidency listened to a detailed report presented by Dr. Ahmed Bin Sankar, Deputy Head of the Economic and Service Assistance Authority, on the executive matrix of the government plan to address the current economic challenges, including the main difficulties facing the economic situation and the proposed alternatives to address them.
In this regard, the Presidency emphasized the necessity for the Leadership Council and the government to return to the capital, Aden, to perform their duties and responsibilities towards the citizens. It stressed that the continued absence is no longer acceptable, as it increases the suffering of the people and leaves them to face their fate amid difficult economic and service conditions.
In a separate context, the Presidency reviewed the results of the joint meeting chaired by the Acting President of the Council, with representatives of international organizations and missions, the government side, and the Council's leadership. In this regard, the Presidency reiterated the Transitional Council's welcome to international organizations and missions and its call for them to move their main offices to the capital, Aden. It confirmed the Council's readiness to provide the necessary facilities to ensure the smooth performance of their tasks, contributing to enhancing relief, development, and stability efforts in the capital, Aden, and across the governorates.
The Presidency concluded its meeting by discussing several issues and topics on its agenda and approved a number of assignments and decisions regarding them.
