Chairman of the National Assembly receives the Head of United Nations Operations in Yemen

The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, received in his office on Wednesday, Mr. Daniel Lopez, Head of United Nations Operations in Yemen, and his companions.
In the meeting, which included Dr. Anis Luqman, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Major General bin Brik welcomed Mr. Lopez, praising the efforts and role of the various United Nations institutions and their unlimited support in all service and humanitarian sectors, expressing his satisfaction with the close relationship between the Southern Transitional Council and United Nations institutions, and the continuous communication with the United Nations office and the rest of offices, stressing that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council is keen to secure it and secure its movement in all the governorates of the South so that it can perform its humanitarian tasks.
Major General Bin Brik presented detailed explanation of the political and economic process in Yemen in general and the South in particular, and the deterioration of public services in the governorates of the South, and the negative role of the government in providing the most basic rights for the southern citizens, so that they can live with honor and dignity.
The Chairman of the National Assembly previewed danger of the existence of refugees from the Horn of Africa in the governorates of the South, and their suspicious role in the country, as they hold military ID cards, and they can be used by some forces that do not want security and stability for the South in particular and the region in general, by forcing them to carry out terrorist operations during the period the ongoing war.
For his part, Mr. Lopez expressed thanks to the Chairman of the National Assembly for the warm reception, praising the flexible and positive role and work of the Southern Transitional Council in providing security support to organizations operating on the ground and facilitating their movement, and welcoming the continuation of this cooperation with the security and safety organization at the United Nations during the coming period.
Mr. Lopez wished the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council continuous success and progress in their work tasks, and peace to be prevailed throughout Yemen in general.
