The Abyan Women's Union holds the monthly meeting for service providers in the Livelihood Enhancement and Economic Empowerment project

 The Abyan Women's Union held this morning, Sunday morning, the monthly meeting of service providers within the framework of the project to enhance livelihoods and economic empowerment implemented by the Abyan Women's Union, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in the presence of the Director General of Zanzibar Directorate, Engineer Salem Akef Awad Mubarak, and Adviser to the Governor of Abyan for Legal Affairs, lawyer Wafaa Khader and Kars  The meeting to discuss the work plan for the new year 2022 AD, evaluate the activities and events implemented in the year 2021 AD, and ways to develop work during the new year.
 The service providers faced the challenges and difficulties that faced the work of the Women’s Union in the year 2021 AD. Also, the preparation of the work plan for the new year 2022 AD was discussed, and the needs for work during the new year were identified and included in the plan.
 During the meeting, Mrs. Adela Ahmed Khader, Secretary-General of the Abyan Women's Union, welcomed the participants in the meeting and praised the work of service providers during the year 2021 AD, in which they provided many achievements and services to the Women's Union through networking and through meetings, dialogue sessions and discussions organized by the union in each chapter within the framework of the project.
 She added, while we are on the threshold of the new year 2022 AD, we are trying as much as possible through service providers to help form and select members for community committees at the governorate level that will be effective and play a greater role during the new year, stressing that the presence of service providers within the framework of the project to enhance livelihoods and economic empowerment is an urgent necessity.  To assist the Union in the conduct of its business, as they are selected personalities from within the community from all sectors of health, education, security, judiciary, local authority, civil society organizations and others.
 Several interventions were made by the participants in the meeting, all of which emphasized the active role played by the Abyan Women's Union in society. They pointed out the need for community committees to be among the active personalities in society. They pointed to the importance of renewing community committees with young blood capable of working and influencing within society, as well as the need to diversify  Targeted areas during the new year and not to repeat the areas targeted in the previous year.
