This morning, at the headquarters of the Coordinator of the Transitional Council at the University of Abyan, the General Union of Southern Jurists in the governorate, in the presence of Dr. Dr. Yeslam at night, the Director of Legal Affairs, lawyer Ibtihal Nasser, and the Director General of the Social Affairs Office in the governorate, Mr. Muhammad Nasher.
At the beginning of the publicity ceremony organized by the Legal Department of the Transitional Council in the governorate, in coordination with the Public Administration,
Dr. Saleh Al-Marfadi confirmed that the General Union of Jurists for Southerners was subjected to systematic destruction within a series of directions from the Sana'a regime to all southern entities, establishments and institutions, and we hope to rebuild these institutions and entities within the institutional building of the state of the south.
Dr. Al-Marfadi added that the Preparatory Committee of the General Union proceeded to complete the statute of the General Union of Southern Jurists serving all spectrums of southern society and was not employed for the benefit of a specific party, and aims to unify southern jurists.
Al-Marfdi referred to the general objectives of the Union to move towards strengthening legal and human rights efforts within the general framework that brings everyone together and restores the law's prestige.
For his part, Mr. Khaled Al-Abd expressed his happiness with this step, which represents the first nucleus of the Jurists' Union at the level of the southern governorates.
Adding that we are today in the process of establishing one of the entities that was an integral part of the mass work and the political and organizational work in the south as state institutions.
Al-Abed indicated that the people of the south are struggling for a strategic goal, which is to restore their state.
Adding that we have begun to take steps towards restoring our rights by recovering our political, sovereign and military institutions and proving to the world that we are capable of institutional building and coexistence with others.
He wished the jurists success in their work tasks through this union.
During the meeting, 9 lawyers were chosen as leadership of the union and 5 for supervision and inspection, and the elected leadership held a meeting for it at the same time to elect presidents and deputies to lead the union and oversight.
