Today, Thursday, the Higher Economic Committee held its periodic meeting headed by Dr. Muhammad Ali Matash, Chairman of the Committee.
 The meeting reviewed the activity of the Economic Committee since its last meeting, the assignments issued by the previous meeting and what has been implemented regarding them.
 The meeting reviewed a brief report on the activities carried out by the Chairman of the Committee, as well as the Finance and Resources Committee, and discussed the activities of the sub-committees and what they did during the last period.
 The meeting stood before a report on the auctions conducted by the Central Bank, noting that these auctions did not positively affect the exchange rates in the market, stressing that these measures are not sufficient and a package of economic reforms must be found that works to improve exchange rates and commodity prices in the local market.
 The meeting discussed the report of the Industry, Trade and Investment Committee regarding the prices of various commodities, including food commodities, and the insane rise in them due to the deterioration of the currency price and the consequences of not controlling prices and stopping the currency collapse.
 The meeting included a review of a report on going to the irrigation sector in Lahj governorate, and what he was briefed on regarding the condition and needs of this sector.
 In its meeting, the Supreme Economic Committee addressed a number of economic issues and developments, and reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous meeting.
