President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, received at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Thursday evening, His Excellency the Chargé d'Affairs of Japanese Ambassador to Yemen Kazuhiro Higashi.
The Leader discussed with the Chargé d'Affairs of the Japanese Ambassador, ways and mechanisms of strengthening the historical bilateral relations between Japan and our country, praising the unlimited support provided by Japan to support development areas in our country in the past and present.
During the meeting, the Leader stressed the importance of Japan's humanitarian interventions in various development and humanitarian fields, as well as its important role in reconstruction and contribution to reviving the economy and building capacities in the sectors of economy, development and administration.
For his part, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Japanese Ambassador expressed his happiness to meet President Al-Zubaidi, congratulating him and the new leadership for gaining confidence to run the country in the next stage, stressing the Japanese government's support for the Presidential Leadership Council emanating from the Riyadh consultations and its willingness to provide all aspects of development support to help the new leadership move forward. The Chargé d'Affairs of the Japanese Ambassador noted that his country will implement a number of vital projects in Yemen, most notably the rehabilitation of the container port in the capital, Aden, which will be implemented through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) soon.
