President Al-Zubaidi to the National: We want peace, but the option of war is on the table if the Houthis continue their intransigence

 President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council said in an exclusive interview with the National that the Presidential Leadership Council places the task of providing services and establishing stability in the capital, Aden, and the liberated governorates among its first priorities.
 President Al-Zubaidi added to the National: There are many priorities, foremost of which is providing services, paying salaries and consolidating stability in the capital, Aden, noting that: “The Presidential Leadership Council has been in permanent session since arriving in the capital, Aden, and held a meeting with the Council of Ministers, through which it stood in front of those priorities.  and ways to implement it.
 In his speech to the National, President Al-Zubaidi said: “We are very much counting on the brothers in the Arab coalition countries to provide a financial grant to revive the economic situation, just as we are counting on donor friends and the entire international community to provide humanitarian support to the Yemeni people.”
 President Al-Zubaidi added: “Our message to the regional and international communities is that we are going to establish peace, establish security and stability in the region, combat terrorism, and also fight the Houthi militia if it continues its intransigence and rejection of calls for peace.”
 President Al-Zubaidi confirmed that the council will activate the oversight bodies to combat corruption in the liberated governorates, stressing that this file was one of the main points discussed in the Riyadh consultations.
 President Al-Zubaidi indicated in his speech to the National that the path to peace with the Houthi militia will be under the umbrella of the United Nations, stressing that peace for the Presidential Council is a permanent option, but the option of war is still on the table if the Houthis continue their intransigence and their rejection of calls for peace.
 In his speech to the National, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated the commitment to the truce at all levels, noting: “Just as we have the ability to self-restraint, we also have the ability to confront any escalation by the Houthi militia.
 President Al-Zubaidi said that the activity of terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS has recently escalated despite the efforts made to defeat them, adding: "Terrorism has recently re-emerged in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa, as the Houthi militias began to change their strategies by coordinating with terrorist organizations (ISIS and Al-Qaeda) to carry out terrorist attacks."
 President Al-Zubaidi stressed that combating terrorism is among the council's priorities, stressing the importance of securing international shipping lanes, welcoming any international efforts made in this regard.
 In his speech to the National, President Al-Zubaidi stressed the need to support his forces with weapons and naval equipment “boats” and train and qualify officers and individuals to enable them to carry out their duties in securing international shipping lines in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden.
