Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, President of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, met on Monday, June 20, with the Follow-up Committee to Achieving Southern National Accord headed by Brigadier General Ali Zain bin Shanzour.
In the meeting, Major General Bin Brik gave a full explanation of the Riyadh consultations and the role of the participating committees to highlight the southern issue and the settlements it reached in favor of the south and its cause.
Major General Ahmed Saeed referred to the procedures for declaring the transfer of power and the formation of the Presidential Command Council and the resulting developments that reflected themselves on reality and changed the course of events... Referring to the military side and the role it is supposed to play at this stage.
In the meeting, the Speaker of the National Assembly also touched on the role of the parity government, which is absent from resolving the bad conditions in services in the southern governorates, and the poor living conditions that citizens suffer from.
Major General Ben Brik referred to the convening of the fifth session of the National Assembly, which will begin its sessions tomorrow, during which the current events and changes will be explained, focusing on the unity of the southern ranks, and discussing the issues and concerns of citizens in the south in general.
For his part, the Chairman of the Committee, Bin Shanzour, thanked Major General Ben Brik for the good reception and the transparent presentation in clarifying the course of events, wishing the National Assembly success in convening its fifth session and coming up with satisfactory recommendations for all.. He referred to the objectives of forming the Independent Committee for Southern Consensus and the initiative presented to it and the proposals put forward. To develop the committee's work in a way that leads to a framework that achieves southern consensus.
In this regard, Brigadier General Bin Shanzour submitted a draft proposal, which was welcomed by Major General Bin Brik, and promised to discuss and respond to them, stressing that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council welcomed any action that leads to national alignment for the victory of the southern cause.
