On Sunday, June 26, the President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, head of the Southern Transitional Council, chaired an expanded meeting of the Presidency of the Council, heads of committees and departments in the National Assembly and the General Secretariat, and local bodies in the governorates, centers and specialized committees of the Council.

 President Al-Zubaidi began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, stressing the importance of this meeting in evaluating the work of the Council over the past five years, to preserve what has been achieved for the south politically and militarily, to avoid deficiencies, and to correct any distortions.

 The Leader stressed the need to work on implementing the outcomes of the Riyadh agreement and consultations, which moved the south to a new political and military situation, as well as implementing the recommendations and decisions contained in the final statement of the fifth session of the National Assembly, as a roadmap for the current stage.

 In the context of his speech, the Leader reviewed the project of restructuring the council’s bodies, and the draft of developing its organizational structure, stressing that this project and the draft are absolutely necessary, to keep pace with the developments of the stage, accelerate the pace of work, and activate the role of all council bodies to accomplish the tasks entrusted to them with efficiency and competence.

 In the context of his speech, the Leader also touched on the political, military, economic and development situations, and efforts to stabilize the foundations of institutional work in the capital, Aden, and other governorates, noting that there are great efforts being made in all fields whose results will be felt in the short, medium, and long term.

 After that, the Commander-in-Chief, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, President of the National Assembly, and Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General, listened from the attendees to a set of proposals and inquiries regarding the axes and topics of the meeting, providing the necessary clarifications on them.
