President Al-Zubaidi discusses with the American ambassador ways to establish peace and efforts to combat terrorism

 On Tuesday, July 5, the President, Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, met with the Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Steve Fagin, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Yemen.
 During the meeting, the latest developments on the local scene were reviewed and discussed, particularly the UN truce, the economic situation in the capital, Aden and the liberated governorates, and the efforts made to absorb the support provided by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to efforts to combat terrorism.
 In this context, the leader called on the US administration to play a greater role in accelerating donors' pledges to help the leadership of the Presidential Leadership Council in reviving the economy, establishing security and stability, and starting the development process.
 The Commander-in-Chief affirmed the support of the Southern Transitional Council and the Presidential Command Council for the efforts and endeavors of the international community for a ceasefire and peace, noting that there were many concessions that were made to agree to the UN truce, respecting the will of the international community, despite the certainty that the Houthi militias are not serious about  In this regard, he stressed that the concessions by the government will not continue if they are not met with a similar response from the Houthi militias.
 President Al-Zubaidi reiterated the seriousness of the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council and the Presidential Command Council in fighting terrorism and confronting Iranian expansion in the region, calling on the US administration to support the security forces, particularly the counter-terrorism forces and the Coast Guard, to play their role and accomplish their tasks in this aspect.
 For his part, the US ambassador reiterated his country's commitment to support UN efforts to end the conflict and bring peace to the region, stressing that the US administration is working with its international partners to put more pressure on the Houthi militias to push them to engage in the peace process and prevent the flow of Iranian weapons to them.
 Ambassador Fagin also renewed his country's government's commitment to support the Presidential Command Council and the government of parity, and its willingness to provide support to the security forces, foremost of which are the counter-terrorism forces and the Coast Guard, to carry out their tasks in combating the terrorism of al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Houthi militias.
