The Yemeni Women's Union implements a workshop to enable women's access to decision-making positions

A meeting was held in the capital, Aden, to discuss the advisory paper to determine the priorities of women and empower them for decision-making in the governorates of Aden, Lahj and Abyan, which is implemented by the General Union of Yemeni Women in Aden Governorate.
 At the opening of the workshop, the First Undersecretary of Aden Governorate, Mohammad Nasr Shazly, explained the importance of the presence of women in decision-making positions alongside her brother, the man, for many considerations, the most important of which is that women are half of society and the decision-making that serves women's development and the advancement of their political positions .
Shazly stressed that the time has come to work as one team, and we are in the leadership of the local authority, led by the Minister of State, Governor of Aden Governorate, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and to encourage women to enable them to play a leadership role in various fields.
Noting thatthis workshop is a proof that you are imposing yourself with your work, your merits, and your own capabilities, especially since the country is going through a difficult time, and everyone must unite to get out of this difficult juncture.
The Head of the Yemeni Women's Union, Fatima Merisi, also delivered a speech in which she indicated the importance of unifying efforts and coordination between various government agencies for constructive partnership and reaching results that contribute to strengthening the role of women in the political, economic and development fields.
The meeting sessions discussed the evaluation of the governorates of Lahj, Taiz and Aden, where an extensive discussion took place by the participants and speakers of the pannal topics that were dealt with in the preliminary sessions of the workshop that were implemented to develop a plan to support and empower women to participate in decision-making at the local level, the participants were divided in working groups to endorse proposals and recommendations aimed at enhancing the role of women in society.
