The Economic and Service Committee, a subsidiary of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, held its regular meeting for the month of December on Thursday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Dr. Ahmed bin Sanker, Vice President of the Committee.
The meeting focused on discussing the difficult economic and living conditions faced by society in various segments, in addition to the continued deterioration in exchange rates and the phenomenon of delayed payment of salaries to state employees and public institutions for two consecutive months, amid a clear absence of government intervention.
The Committee called on the government to fulfill its commitments and responsibilities regarding the timely and regular payment of salaries, and to adjust them in accordance with the rising prices.
The Committee also stressed the importance of accelerating the preparation of the general budget for the year 2025, emphasizing the need to collect revenues and ensure their flow into the designated channels, and called for controlling spending and reducing unjustified expenses.
The meeting also discussed several topics related to the preparation of the 2025 plan, reviewing the implementation level of previous tasks, and taking necessary actions regarding them.
