Al-Muharrami Meets with US Ambassador to Discuss Military and Economic Situation

Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Zara'a Al-Muharrami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Sunday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the US ambassador to Yemen, Mr. Steven Fagin, to discuss the latest developments related to the economic and military situation.

The meeting discussed the economic and humanitarian repercussions of ongoing Houthi escalation against international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and explored ways to boost cooperation between the two sides in countering terrorism and promoting peace and stability in the region.

The meeting reviewed efforts undertaken to address the economic and humanitarian challenges. In this context, Mr. Al-Muharrami reiterated the country's commitment to carrying out domestic reforms and eradicating corruption to improve basic services and meet the needs of citizens, highlighting the importance of US and international
assistance in bolstering these efforts.

For his part, the US ambassador reaffirmed his country's support for all efforts to overcome various difficulties, lauding the strides that have been made to maintain stability and present a united front against the current challenges.
