Al-Kathiri Gets Briefed on Petromasila Workflow and Encountered Challenges

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and President of the National Assembly, met today, Tuesday, in his office at the Assembly’s headquarters with Mr. Mohammed Bin Sumait, Executive Director of Petromasila (Petroleum Exploration and Production Company).

Mr. Al-Khathiri received a briefing from Eng. Bin Sumait on the multifaceted achievements and challenges confronting the company in the wake of the cessation of oil exports resulting from terrorist attacks on oil export facilities carried out by Houthi militias. In addition to the progress of work in the company's concession areas, the gas power plant in the Valley of Hadramaut, the substations, and the 264 MW electricity project in the capital, Aden.

Likewise, Al-Kathiri listened to a detailed explanation about the company's investment programs and its development projects in fields directly related to the needs of the population in the concession areas and the company's mechanisms to cover part of the local market and diesel and crude fuel for operating power plants.

Al-Kathiri praised the efforts of the company and its employees across all operational sites in the oil and power sectors, highlighting the importance of safeguarding this vital facility, continuing efforts to upgrade and modernize it, and boosting its performance as a key pillar to the national economy.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Abdullah Rajab Al-Zubaidi, Chief Operations Manager of PetroMasila Company, and Suleiman Brak Al-Jabri, Public Relations Officer of the company.
