President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Thursday evening with the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Mr. Tim Lenderking.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the humanitarian, political, and military situation in the country, with a focus on the continued terrorism perpetrated by the Houthi militias against civilians in areas under their control and their ongoing unprovoked terrorist attacks on international shipping lanes and the ramifications of these attacks on the already dire humanitarian situation in the country.
In this regard, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated the importance of a unified and resolute international stance to deter the acts of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia and noted that the US-UK airstrikes are not enough to destroy the militia's military capabilities and will not yield tangible results unless carried out as part of a comprehensive approach involving military, economic, and political aspects with the concerted efforts of all local, regional, and international actors.
