The STC Presidium Finalizes Preparations of AHD 7th Anniversary and the Council's Founding

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Wednesday, chaired by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the STC and Chairman of the National Assembly, in the presence of the heads of the auxiliary bodies.



At the beginning of the meeting, the Presidium extended its warmest congratulations to the male and female workers and employees of the South on the occasion of International Workers' Day, praising the sincere efforts that have been made by all the workers of the South and their national contributions in the fields of construction and development both in the past and present.



The Presidium then studied the plan presented by Mr. Zaid Al-Naqib, Head of the Supreme Committee for National Events and Celebrations, in which he reviewed the overall activities prepared by the committee to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the Aden Historic Declaration (AHD) and the founding of the STC, reaffirming the council's adherence to the contents of the AHD and the national fundamentals of the South, represented in the independence of the South as a homeland, state, and identity.



In this regard, the Presidium extended its congratulations and blessings to President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, and through him to the people of the South both in the country and abroad, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the carte-blanche to the President on May 4, 2017, and the founding of the STC and the formation of its Presidium on May 11, 2017, pointing to the historic importance of the two events in the course of the unrelenting struggle of the people of the South to restore their fully sovereign independent state.



In a separate context, the Presidium listened to a briefing from the Secretary-General, Mr. Fadhl Mohammad Al-Ga'adi, on his participation in the workshop organized by the American National Democratic Institute (NDI) in the middle of this week in the capital, Aden, based on a mandate from the Presidium of the STC, praising in the context what he put forward from recommendations expressing the STC's firm position on independence and the restoration of the full sovereignty state on the borders pre-May 22, 1990.



The Presidium reviewed in its meeting the latest developments related to the political process and the ongoing escalation by the terrorist Houthi militia in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait and its repercussions on the regional and international levels, which came during a briefing submitted by Mr. Amr Ali Al-Beidh, member of the STC's Presidium and the Special Representative of the President of the STC, and presented by the rapporteur of the Presidium, which summarized the results of his meetings with representatives of European Union countries during his recent visit to a number of European capitals on behalf of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.



At the end of its meeting, the Presidium discussed a number of documents submitted by the rapporteur of the National Assembly, Mr. Nasr Harhara, which included a report by the administrative body of the assembly on the activities since its restructuring and the work plan of the National Assembly for the year 2024, in addition to another document that included the requirements of the staff of the assembly in terms of qualification and training, and the Presidium took the appropriate measures in this regard.
