STC Political Commission Stands Before Public Concerns and Highlights the Government's Role in Fulfilling its Responsibilities

The political commission (PC) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, its periodic meeting for the second half of May 2024, chaired by Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the PC and Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit of the STC.



At the beginning of the meeting, the PC reviewed the draft general guidelines for the political and media discourse of the STC. In a separate context, the Commission discussed the political report presented by the Monitoring and Political Analysis Section, which included all local, regional, and international developments. Moreover, the PC listened to a briefing on the military situation on the front lines of the South from the Head of the Moral Guidance Department in the Southern Land Forces.



In addition to that, the PC discussed the current prevailing crisis circumstances, including the deterioration of the economic and humanitarian situation suffered by citizens, especially the deterioration of basic services such as electricity, water, and food, and the rapid collapse of the currency.



Similarly, the PC highlighted the role of the government in taking urgent and decisive measures to address these pressing issues, alleviate the suffering of citizens, and work to restore stability and improve the standard of living in the capital, Aden, and the rest of the governorates of the South.



Furthermore, the PC appreciated the position of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), in his recent meeting with a number of members of the STC's Presidoum and the STC's ministers in the government, which discussed urgent solutions to stop the rapid deterioration of economic and service conditions in the South.



Likewise, the PC reiterated the assertion of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi that the STC is a political entity stemming from and belonging to the people of the South and will never be far from their suffering.



At the end of its meeting, the PC reviewed a range of topics on its agenda, approved the previous minutes, and submitted its proposals and recommendations.
