Today, Saturday, the Executive Body of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Abyan Governorate organized the first consultative meeting for the people of the central region, to confront the Houthi threats to the governorate and the latest developments taking place in the region.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Shaqi, conveyed to those gathered during the consultative meeting the greetings of President Commander Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Chairman of the Transitional Council, explaining the importance of calling for this meeting in order to put everyone before the picture of what is happening in the central region today, and in order to tribal and social figures and the local authority are joining forces to maintain the stability of the central region, the cohesion of its social fabric, and to confront any threats from the Houthi militia.
Al-Shaqqi recalled the heroics achieved by the people of the central region in self-defense and honor, warning those who attack the sacrifices of the people of the South in restoring the southern state by splitting the southern ranks to achieve their goals, pointing to the media attack against the people of the South, and fighting the southerners with services that are of no use with steadfastness and strength of the people of the South's patience.
The governorate's transitional executive director, Mr. Hassan Munser Ghaithan Al-Kazmi, touched on the dangerous development of the Houthi militia and its attempt to kidnap one of the governorate's sons, spreading chaos in the central region, and the efforts of some groups that announced their efforts to dismantle the social fabric, and are working to create strife, bloodshed, and chaos. He stressed that these actions will not be allowed in the central region, which is considered a safety valve for Abyan and the south in general.
During the meeting, which was held under the slogan “Community lining up to defend religion, land, and honor,” Ghaithan pointed out that the directorates of the central region and its people are with the leadership of the Transitional Council, represented by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, stressing the adherence of the people of the central region to the goals of the southern liberation revolution, which is restoring the southern state’s full sovereignty.
While both the head of the Abyan bloc in the National Assembly, Mr. Khaled Al-Abd, and Sheikh Samir Al-Hayed, Director General of the Modiyah District, on behalf of the local authority in the central region’s directorates, stressed the importance of such meetings in the central region to fight the Houthi threat, and called for coordination and joint work in serving the central region’s directorates to activate the societal role of clerics, leaders, and officials to spread awareness in mosques and schools.
For his part, Sheikh Muhammad Ali Habyat, on behalf of the tribes, explained that clerics play a pivotal role in guiding citizens towards a sense of responsibility, and through their sermons and seminars, their ability to motivate the masses to work collectively, to protect the nation from dangers, calling for reunification and cohesion in the face of these dangers threats.
The people of the central region expressed their great appreciation for the efforts of the executive body for the governorate’s transition and its interest in the security and safety of the central region, and the establishment of security and stability there.
The meeting came out with a number of decisions and recommendations that contribute to strengthening the unity of the southern ranks in the face of the threats of the Houthi militia.
