On Monday, Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and President of the National Assembly, met with Captain Saleh Salim Bin Nahid, Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology.

During the meeting, Al-Kathiri was briefed by Captain Bin Nahid on the conditions of the Civil Aviation Authority and the airports in the southern governorates and liberated areas, as well as the achievements made during the past period. These achievements include the opening of new international air routes, the preparation of several airports, the ongoing work in the rehabilitation of Aden International Airport, the continuous efforts of the authority in training and developing its staff, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and protecting information and systems used in airports, and the readiness to serve travelers at all levels.

The Acting President of the Council praised the achievements made by the leadership of the authority and their continuous efforts to improve air transport services in the country. He congratulated the leadership of the authority on their election to the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization in the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco. He emphasized the need to double the efforts and focus on development and modernization aspects, and to follow modern procedures to elevate the field of civil aviation in the country.
