The Human Rights Department of the Southern Transitional Council in the Abyan governorate held a seminar on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, which falls on Friday, December 10 of each year, on Thursday morning, December 9, 2021 at the headquarters of the Southern Transitional Council in the governorate of Abyan.
In the symposium, Mr. Abdullah Barhout, Director of the Organizational Department of the Transitional Council, gave the opening speech of the symposium and welcomed all the attendees for their participation in this symposium, which indicates your concern for the outcomes of this symposium, which affects the rights and freedoms of the southern human being and what he is exposed to in these circumstances and in these days of  wars and conflicts.
Also M.r Alaa Saleh Muhammad said, Director of the Human Rights Department, also gave his speech of welcome and thanks to the attendees. He said we were keen to hold a symposium to discuss violations of rights and freedoms.  We live in difficult living conditions from this economic war for the sons of the south in general and the  our sons of Abyan in particular, as it suffers from the worst violations of rights and freedoms from the destruction of citizens' homes as a result of the absurd war led by terrorist militias.  And this responsibility of all of us is not limited to one party.  All segments of society are affected.
We must all take care of the youth in terms of education and that they are the future that advances the south towards a better future.  Where there are parties that seek to destroy young people in a systematic process by spreading drugs among the students.  Everyone must bear the responsibility to protect this category by spreading awareness in schools, mosques and all social media sites, and the message of the human rights activist must be raised and our voice must reach international human rights organizations.
And opens the door for participation and intervention in the symposium for all attendees, where the lawyer, Salem Ahmed Bazaros, head of the legal department of the Khanfar transitional department, presented his intervention, saying: A specialized team must be formed to monitor these violations of rights and freedoms, where it is easy for the insider to follow them separately and to absorb and train all the jurists in the transitional team from the sons of Abyan  and rehabilitate them.
For his part, the human rights activist, Professor Hussein Mahdi Al-Awlaki, reviewed some human rights violations of students in some schools, such as the expulsion and insults of students by some teachers for not having school uniforms or notebooks and fees, and not taking into account their financial conditions.  Where some students strive to earn a living and work in the markets to satisfy their hunger because some of them are orphans and their parents are divorced.
Lawyer Saleh Al-Fadhli also discussed, in a brief report, the types of violations that took place in Abyan, which are not limited to, such as the Al-Majalah massacre, the Seven October Factory, the security point of the project in Jaar, and other massacres.
Pointing out that there are people languishing in some prisons without trial or any prior accusation, and that there are underground tunnels for terrorist groups that they dug during Al-Qaeda's war on Abyan governorate, which were revealed and documented in that.
Many lawyers and human rights activists gave interventions that increased the enthusiasm and interaction of the symposium and showed us that the our sons of Abyan are a civilized society that seeks to renounce terrorism and racism and unite the ranks against everyone who seeks to destroy his governorate and violate his freedoms.
