Mr. Fadl Muhammad Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, received today, Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, with Mr. Omar Salim Abboud, the regional representative for the Middle East and North Africa of the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution.
In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Lotfi Shatara, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Vice-President of the National Assembly, Al-Jaadi welcomed the regional representative of the Norwegian Center, providing an explanation of the stages that the south has gone through since the start of the southern peaceful movement, noting that the south made many sacrifices and bloodshed in The path of his cause, which the Transitional Council bears upon itself as the legitimate representative of the southerners, stressing that the Council is committed to the cause of its people, who seek to achieve their goals and aspirations, foremost of which is restoring their state with full sovereignty and will not abandon it.
Al-Jaadi indicated that the Transitional Council pays great attention to the work of international organizations in the south, and is keen to facilitate their peaceful and humanitarian work, praising the role of international centers and institutions and all parties that seek to resolve conflicts and resolve differences between the parties, and those that are making efforts to establish peace.
Al-Jaadi was briefed on the activities of the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution, the role that the center plays in communicating with parties related to crises, and its efforts to coordinate to overcome differences.
The two sides reviewed possible means of coordination between the Transitional Council and the Norwegian Center, and possible ways to work on building a bridge of communication and interdependence that would enhance efforts made to resolve conflicts and disputes to reach a complete, comprehensive and just peace.
The two parties discussed the political, economic, and humanitarian developments in the south, developments in implementing the Riyadh Agreement and the importance of implementing all its provisions, including the economic part of it, as well as the suffering suffered by southerners as a result of the war and its aftermath, the economic crisis that burdened the citizens, and the council’s efforts to normalize life, and its abuse Positive with initiatives aimed at ending disputes and resolving crises by peaceful means.
For his part, the regional representative for the Middle East and North Africa of the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution thanked the Deputy Secretary-General for the good reception, noting that the center seeks to resolve differences between the conflicting parties by bringing together views, coordinating meetings and bringing ideas together, and doing everything possible to reach peace Which is one of the priorities of the center's tasks and objectives, praising the role played by the Transitional Council in this regard in the current crisis in the country.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi presented the regional representative of the Norwegian Center with a historical documentary book issued by the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, entitled: “The Postal Stamps of the South, Identity of a Nation”, which includes the stamps of the South from 1839 AD to 1990.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Basem Mansour, head of the media department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, a member of the National Southern Media Authority, and Engineer Muhammad Al-Abadi, deputy head of the Council's General Administration of Foreign Affairs.
