The Secretary-General of the Red Crescent Authority, Dr. Muhammad Ateeq Al-Falahi, announced the start of implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, regarding providing Ramadan requirements to the largest number of Yemenis and delivering them to the beneficiaries before the holy month.
Al-Falahi stressed that the beneficiaries for this year exceed 7 million Yemenis in six Yemeni governorates, including Shabwa, Hadramawt, Taiz, Hodeidah, Aden and Socotra Island.
The total value of UAE aid provided to Yemen from 2015 until Ramadan last year is estimated at 23 billion dirhams.
The selection of this year's beneficiaries, amounting to 7 million Yemenis, is consistent with the lists of poor and needy families included in the updates of humanitarian reports and surveys in Yemen.
