President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, discussed bilateral relations and opportunities for joint cooperation with the Kingdom of Norway.
This came when he met, today, Thursday, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thomas Led Paul.
In the meeting, the leader praised the humanitarian role played by the Kingdom of Norway in our country since the outbreak of the war, stressing the importance of strengthening joint cooperation at various levels.
The Commander-in-Chief stressed the keenness of the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance joint cooperation with the government of Norway, and the leadership of the council looked forward to a broader Norwegian role in the fields of development, investment, reconstruction, and support for livelihoods in our country, noting that our country provides attractive investment opportunities for Norwegian capital in Government and private sectors.
The Leader stressed the importance of Norwegian support in the humanitarian aspects and in supporting development efforts, reviving the economy, building the capacity of government sector employees, rehabilitating youth and empowering women.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway expressed his happiness at meeting President Al-Zubaidi, congratulating him on the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council and his selection as a member of it, and on the tangible success achieved by the Riyadh consultations, which concluded their work today.
The Norwegian ambassador affirmed his country's firm and continuous support for the efforts to bring peace in Yemen sponsored by the United Nations and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, considering the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council as an advanced step on the path to a comprehensive solution.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway reiterated his country's support for the new leadership, expressing his aspiration to work alongside the Presidential Leadership Council, to serve the country, end the humanitarian crisis caused by the war, and contribute to reaching a lasting peace that lays the foundations for a secure and prosperous future.
His Excellency Thomas Paul expressed his country's readiness to provide the necessary support to build the capacities of youth and women so that they can contribute to building state institutions, advancing development and reviving the collapsed economy.
The meeting was attended by Muhammad al-Ghaithi, head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council, Saleh Ghaleb al-Quaiti, representative of the General Department of Foreign Affairs, Imad Muhammad, Deputy Director of the Office of the President of the Council, and Ali al-Hadayani, Press and Media Secretary to the President of the Council.
