The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council affirmed its categorical rejection of any miserable attempts targeting the central bank in the capital, Aden, through theses adopted by some suspicious elements in the bank’s management aiming to transfer the bank to Sana’a.
The Presidency, in its meeting held in the capital, Aden this morning, headed by the Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Fadl Muhammad Al-Jaadi, stressed the importance and symbolism of the Central Bank as a sovereign institution of the state, stressing that compromising it, or transferring its functions in whole or in part outside the internationally recognized capital, Aden, is a violation of the sovereignty of the country. The state, and the legitimacy of the equitable government emanating from the Riyadh Agreement.
In its meeting, which was attended by a number of council ministers in the equal government, the Presidency warned the suspicious elements in the bank’s management of the consequences of their movements with some parties abroad, stressing that it closely monitors these suspicious movements, and is following with interest the threads of conspiracy that these elements weave in a miserable endeavor. To transfer the bank to Sanaa, the capital of the Houthi militia, through its representative, Mansour Rajeh, who previously headed a Houthi economic delegation to Germany in late 2018.
In a separate context, the Presidency held the government equally responsible for the Houthi militia’s continued seizure of the telecommunications sector and looting of its revenues, in light of the inaction of some government ministers, stressing that allowing the so-called Yemeni Omani United Communications Company “U” to operate in the liberated southern governorates is illegal. Legal, which is a grave breach that cannot be accepted, calling on the competent authorities in the government and local authorities in the governorates to do their part to prevent this tampering.
In its meeting with the internationally recognized government of parity, the Presidency called for carrying out its national and legal duty by issuing personal cards from the capital, Aden, as the capital of the state, as well as carrying out its national responsibilities in controlling economic resources, collecting revenues to the central bank, working to revive the national economy, and controlling the currency exchange rate. Stopping the economic collapse, and providing services to citizens, especially electricity, education, and health.
The Presidency also renewed its commitment to enabling the people of the liberated southern governorates to manage their governorates, including service institutions, utilities and economic resources, and in the political and military fields, in accordance with the requirements of the Riyadh agreement and consultations.
At the conclusion of its meeting, the Presidency expressed the Southern Transitional Council’s rejection of any attempts to revive the pre-2015 institutions and authorities’ structures in the southern governorates in any way.
