Dr. Al-Khubaji receives the Director of the Office of the UN Envoy in the capital, Aden

 On Thursday, July 28, in his office in the capital, Aden, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, received Mr. Peter Rice, Director of the Office of the UN Envoy in the capital, Aden, and Mr. Tim Azzawi, Assistant Director of the Office of the UN Envoy for Political Affairs.
 The meeting discussed details of the efforts made by the UN envoy to extend the armistice and launch the comprehensive peace process. In this regard, Dr. Al-Khubaji reiterated the need to establish a special negotiating framework for the issue of the people of the south within the negotiations for a comprehensive political solution.
 The meeting touched on the importance of forming a joint negotiating delegation, the urgent need to address the difficult humanitarian and economic conditions in the south and Yemen, and the need for Al-Houthi to implement its obligations contained in the armistice agreement, which is nearing completion.
 For his part, the Director of the Office of the Envoy of the Secretary-General in the capital, Aden, Mr. Peter Rice, affirmed the interest of the UN envoy, Mr. Hans Grundberg, in the negotiating process to reach a comprehensive political solution with the participation of all parties, particularly the Southern Transitional Council.
 The meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Al-Ghaithi, Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council.
