President Commander Aidarous Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, was briefed on the conditions of the Navy and the conditions of their members, in a meeting with Lieutenant General Abdullah Salem Al-Nakhai, Commander of the Navy, and a number of the Navy commanders . 

The meeting has reviewed the problems faced by the naval forces and the necessary requirements  to rebuild them, and enhance their readiness and combat capabilities to carry out the national tasks assigned to them in enhancing the security of the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, the Gulf of Aden, international shipping lines, confronting Houthi/Iranian threats, and protecting Arab national security.

President Al-Zubaidi listened to an explanation from the team about the efforts being made to rebuild the navy and activate their role, protect their facilities, and rehabilitate the remaining naval vessels after the systematic destruction that affected them since 1994.

At the end of the meeting, the Lieutenant General Al-Nakhai expressed its thanks and gratitude to President Al-Zubaidi for his efforts to support the Navy and its members since 2016.

The meeting was attended by Major General Kamal Hamshari, Director of the Office of the President of the Southern Transitional Council.
