On Thursday, September 8, the Southern Transitional Council Decision-Making Support Center held its ninth specialized meeting for the month of September, in the capital, Aden, headed by Dr. Khaled Bamedhaf, head of the center.
The meeting, which was held in the presence of Lawyer Zikra Maatouk, Head of the Human Rights Department at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Ihab Ali Ahmed, Deputy Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department in the Security of the Capital, Aden, and Suad Alawi, Head of  Aden Center for Awareness of the Drug Danger, stood before the phenomenon of the spread of  smuggling and trafficking  drug .
The meeting has stressed that the dangers posed by smuggling and trafficking drug should be classified as state security issues, as they are helping the growth of the criminal market and outlaw groups, increase violence and instability, which threatens internal peace, security and the rule of law.
The meeting has considered that the phenomenon of drug smuggling and trafficking is one of the forms of war through which the national state in the south and its capabilities are targeted and the society is emptied of its energies. This calls for the establishment of a new national body concerned with dealing with drug issues, prosecuting the illegal trade and striking the smuggling lines that pass through our country, stressing the importance of the presence of a strong political will in the Anti-Narcotics project.
The attendees at the meeting presented a number of interventions in the same context in preparation for submitting them as recommendations to the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council.
