President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Tuesday, September 20, with the Governor of Abyan Governorate, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem.
In the meeting, which was attended by Major General Ali Ahmed Al-Bishi, Commander of the Southern Land Forces, Major General Fadl Hassan Al-Omari, Commander of the Fourth Military District, and Brigadier General Ahmed Hadi Al-Mashreqi, Commander of Shabwa Brigade, President Al-Zubaidi from Abyan Governorate was briefed on the progress of the military operations carried out by the Southern Armed Forces within Operation '' Arrows of the East '' Aiming to purge the governorate of terrorist and extremist elements.
President Al-Zubaidi also listened, from Major General Abu Bakr Hussein, to an explanation of the efforts of the local authority to normalize the situation in the areas that have been cleared of terrorist organizations, and the level of operational coordination between military and security units, to secure those areas and clear them of mines planted by terrorist elements with the aim of impeding the progress of the southern forces.
President Al-Zubaidi affirmed his support for the efforts of the local authority to stabilize the situation in the areas that have been cleared, stressing that the people of Abyan in general and the central region in particular, have suffered a lot from the extremist practices of terrorist elements and their discourse calling for violence, incitement and atonement against their compatriots from the Southern Armed Forces, in the service of partisan force that does not have in its agendas nothing but hostility to the south and its people.
At the end of the meeting, the governor of Abyan expressed his thanks and appreciation to President Al-Zubaidi for his support to the local authority to advance the situation in the governorate, normalize life, impose security and stability, and preserve public tranquility for citizens.
