The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Thursday, chaired by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the STC and Chairman of the National Assembly, in the presence of the STC's ministers in the government and heads of the auxiliary bodies.

In the beginning of its meeting, the Presidium listened to a briefing on the key findings of the contact and bolstering political awareness teams tasked by President Al-Zubaidi to visit the governorates of the South. These teams were assigned to assess the economic, service, military, and security conditions; find out about citizens' concerns and needs; and evaluate the organizational performance of local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) in governorates and districts.

The Presidium commended the efforts of the contact teams during their field visits in identifying key challenges, assessing the various difficulties faced by citizens, and proposing appropriate solutions that are expected to contribute to improving living conditions, services, and the performance of the LLEBs.

The Presidium also praised the field teams for their diligence in completing their assigned tasks and for accurately portraying the current political situation, highlighting efforts led by the STC's leadership to enhance the presence of the South in the international decision-making centers and engage in constructive and civilized dialogues with various segments of the Southern society and listen to their opinions and aspirations. This approach, the STC has been emphasizing, is a fundamental principle in its pursuit of realizing the aspirations of the people of the South for their federal state.

In another context, the Presidium lauded the efforts that have been exerted by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi and his deputy Mr. Abdul-Rahman Abu Zara'a al-Muharrami, and Vice Chairman، Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani, from their official status within the framework of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), to improve public service and economic conditions and empower the people of the South to benefit from their resources in a way that achieves justice and sustainable development.

In discussing the latest domestic developments, particularly the PLC's initiative to combat rampant corruption that is affecting public institutions, the Presidium emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and non-selective anti-corruption campaign so that it must include all sectors and levels of government to ensure justice and accountability.

The President has emphasized the need to grant judicial authorities full independence to carry out their duties without interference, ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of procedures in holding accountable those involved in rampant corruption that has plagued the country since 1994, recovering public properties and funds, and continuing efforts to promote transparency and the rule of law.

At the end of its meeting, the Presidium approved a series of tasks related to the topics and issues being discussed, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of its previous meeting.
