On Sunday, August 7 ,The Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, President of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, met Dr. Maryam Al-Dogani, Head of the Relief and International Cooperation Team in the Presidency of the Republic's office .

In the meeting, which included lawyer Niran Souki, member of the Presidency and Vice-President of the National Assembly, Major General Ben Brik gave Dr. Maryam a brief overview of the National Assembly, in particular, and its parliamentary role that keeping up with the society affairs that the House of Representatives was unable to cover.

He also gave her a clear idea of the leading role of the Southern Transitional Council, in general, rescuing the southern governorates from the deteriorating situation that they had been living for many years, and during that period, many governments made the situation worse in those governorates.

During the meeting in which Aisha Taleb, head of the Women and Children Committee in the National Assembly, and Dr. Jacqueline Mansour Al-Batani, head of the Social Affairs Committee in the Assembly, participated, Major General Ben Brik confirmed That he leadership of the Southern Transitional Council pays great and wide attention to women, as they are half of society and the main supporter of her male brother. The leadership of the council is also striving to find a place for her in the administrative apparatus and political participation.

For her part, Dr. Maryam Al-Dogani thanked The Major General Ben Brik for the kind reception, giving an explanation  of her work's activity as a supervisory body in coordination with government agencies and organizations, emphasizing on the necessity of arranging the internal structure in order to be able to attract donors that will contribute of advancing the development and economy, as well as contributing to the recovery of the deteriorating service and economic situation in the country, through its development and improvement for the better, In keeping with the aspirations and expectations of the people.

At the end of the meeting, The Major General Ben Brik emphasized on the need of involving a number of women leaders of the Southern Transitional Council, in the organizations operating in it, as a supervisory body.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed Qassem, Director of the Office of the President of the National Assembly, and a member of the Honorary Society, Al-Rumaisa Hussein Yaqoub, President of the National Network for Advocating the Rights of People of Determination.
