President Al-Zubaidi discusses with the Ambassador of the European Union ways to support the Leadership Council and its efforts to establish peace

President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice- President of the Presidential Leadership Council, discussed ways for the European Union countries to support the Presidential Leadership Council, and the efforts of the United Nations to bring peace to Yemen.
This came in a meeting held today with the Ambassador of the European Union to Yemen, H.E. Gabriel Monera Viñales via video call, where they discussed ways and mechanisms to support, and strengthen the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council that aimed at reviving the economy, reforming state institutions, and consolidating security and stability and establishing peace.
The meeting has touched on the latest developments in the military situation in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa, and the efforts of the armed forces in combating terrorism with the launch of the Operation of Arrows of the East, Where the Ambassador of the European Union expressed his sincere condolences to President Al-Zubaidi and to the families of the martyrs of the Security Belt Forces who were killed in the terrorist attack that targeted their station in Ahwar District last week.
In the meeting, the President stressed the pivotal role of the European Union to support humanitarian and development efforts and the efforts of the comprehensive political process in Yemen, reiterating his call to the international community and the United Nations to pressure Houthi militias and force them to implement their commitments towards the armistice.
The President Commander stressed that the future of the truce is fraught with danger in light of the intransigence and recklessness of Houthi militias, their failure to fulfill their obligations, their evasion of implementing the terms and conditions of the truce, their continued targeting of civilians, the closure of roads and crossings, and the military build-up in most areas, in addition to their threats to international navigation in the Red Sea and the threat to international peace and security. 
For his part, Ambassador Vinals affirmed the support of the European Union countries to the Presidential Leadership Council, and to the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Mr. Hans Grundberg, to push the paths of peace and end the conflict in the region.
The meeting was attended by Anis Al-Sharafi, Deputy Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council, and Imad Muhammad, Director of the Office of the Vice- President of the Leadership Council.
