The Supreme Committee for Financial Resources holds its first meeting headed by President Al-Zubaidi

Today, Monday, the Supreme Committee for Financial Resources held its first meeting at the Presidential Palace in Maasheq, headed by President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, head of the Committee.
The meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik Saeed, has began by reviewing the decision of the Presidential Leadership Council regarding the formation of the committee, the tasks and competencies assigned to it, and the powers granted to it to control and collect sovereign and local revenues, rationalize expenditures, and develop and improve resources.
During the meeting, the President Commander stressed the importance of each party carrying out its tasks and responsibilities within the framework of its work within the committee, intensifying efforts, and strengthening cooperation and coordination to achieve the goals for which the committee was formed, and that would positively affect the lives of citizens.
The President also stressed the need to work according to a chronic work mechanism, a matrix of treatments and procedures to reform the revenue, and to strengthen the control process by activating the role of the Central Organization for Control and Accountability on the economic sectors, in order to ensure the improvement and development of available revenues.
After that, the meeting has listened to the difficulties and obstacles that hinder the functioning of a number of sectors, the most important of which is the problem of the governorates not supplying their central revenue to the Central Bank, and exemptions from taxes and customs that are granted in violation of the law, in addition to a set of opinions and proposals to solve the difficulties and provide financial sustainability.
The meeting has approved assigning the Ministry of Finance to issue memoranda and circulars to the concerned authorities, regarding the obligation to collect revenues and supply them to the Central Bank, follow up the level of implementation, and submit the violators to the committee to take legal measures against them.
