President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice- President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Thursday, September 29, His Excellency Richard Oppenheim, Ambassador of the United Kingdom (Britain) to Yemen and his assistant.
The meeting has reviewed the political and economic developments in the liberated governorates, the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to stabilize the situation and enhance security and stability, and the government's efforts to revive the economic situation and improve services.
During the meeting, they discussed the efforts of the United Nations and the regional and international communities to extend the UN armistice, and in this regard, President Al-Zubaidi stressed that the talk about extending the armistice in light of the arrogance and intransigence of the Houthi militias and their refusal to abide by their commitments will remain mere ink on paper, calling on the international community to adopt a serious position that forces the militias to implement all its obligations relating to the armistice without delay or equivocation.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed, during the meeting, that the Presidential Leadership Council has implemented its obligations towards the armistice, and positively dealt with the efforts of the international community to extend it, stressing that talking about renewing the armistice in light of the militias' intransigence is useless, and the process of granting opportunities to militias that reject calls for Peace at the expense of the people.
The meeting has also discussed the situation in Shabwa governorate, where President Al-Zubaidi reiterated the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council to support the local authorities, led by Governor Sheikh Awad Al-Awlaki, to normalize life and consolidate security and stability in the governorate.
The meeting has also touched on the developments in Abyan governorate, following the great victories achieved by the "Arrows of the East" operation in defeating the elements of terrorist organizations from most of the governorate's regions.
The meeting was attended by Muhammad al-Ghaithi, head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council, head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, Mansour Zaid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Mukhtar al-Yafei, deputy head of the National Southern Media Authority, and Imad Muhammad, director of the office of the Vice-President of the Leadership Council.
