President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Deputy head of the Presidential Leadership Council, received at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Monday, October 3, His Excellency Yevgeny Kodrov, acting in charge of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Yemen.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the acting in charge of the Russian Ambassador, reviewing with him the solid relations between the south and the Russian Federation, and the pivotal role Russia plays in supporting the efforts to bring peace to the region.
The meeting has discussed the latest political and military developments in the region in light of the Houthi militia's intransigence and rejection of international efforts aimed at extending the truce and its refusal of the agreement reached by the UN envoy with its leadership earlier, as well as its evasion of fulfilling its obligations, and its continuous obstruction of peace efforts.
During the meeting, they reviewed the developments in the capital, Aden, and the efforts made by all parties to normalize and develop life in it, to play its role as the country's capital.
President Al-Zubaidi reiterated the position of the Southern Transitional Council and the Presidential Leadership Council in supporting the calls to stop the war, and the international efforts that aimed at bringing peace to the region, noting that the leaderships of the Southern Transitional Council and the Presidential Leadership Council dealt positively with all international efforts aimed at extending the truce, in a time when the Houthi militias continued their intransigence and rejection of these endeavors, and went far to continue their violations, and their military mobilization to undermine efforts to stop the war, stressing in the context the need for the international community to adopt a firm stance on these moves and put an end to them so that these efforts would not be killed.
President Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the political leadership in the south and the liberated governorates is committed to the truce, and will deal positively with all calls for peace, while it will remain open to all options to protect the security and stability of the liberated areas, protect international interests in them, and secure international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.
For his part, acting in charge of the Russian Ambassador expressed his country's supportive position to stop the war and bring peace to our country, praising the victories achieved by our armed forces during Operation Arrows of the East, which targeted the strongholds of terrorist organizations in Abyan Governorate.
