President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met in his office in the capital, Aden, on Wednesday, August 17, the Minister of Youth and Sports in the Parity government, Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri, and a number of representatives and General Directors of the Ministry's departments.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President welcomed Minister Al-Bakri and the attendees from the cadres of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, praising the efforts made by them to activate the sports aspect and enhance the presence of young people in various sports forums internally and externally.
Then, President Al-Zubaidi listened to the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Sectors Representatives, and the Departments Directors, a full explanation of the ministry's activity during the last period, in the sports field, the aspect of sports projects and facilities in all governorates, and the ministry's plans and programs for the coming period.
During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi was also briefed on the difficulties and dilemmas facing the ministry's work in terms of weak revenues and support provided by the government side due to the failure of a number of governorates to supply the allocated percentages of their resources for the youth benefit of , Youth and Sports Fund, and ways to solve this problem.
The Leader pointed out that the youth and sports sector is one of the important sectors, as it is concerned with the most important segment of society, and those who rely on them to lead the stage of construction and development, emphasizing the need to design special programs and activities that enable them to unload their energies and highlight their talents and creativity, for the benefit of their homeland and societies .
President Al-Zubaidi affirmed the full readiness of the Presidential Leadership Council to provide all aspects of support to the ministry to continue its efforts to advance the youth and sports reality in all governorates, and the capital Aden in particular, and restore the sporting brilliance of its youth and clubs as the front of the country and the cradle of sports in the south, Yemen, and the Arabian Peninsula in general.
At the end of his speech, the Leader emphasized the need for sports to be a public outlet to unload the energies of all young people with their different orientations and tendencies, away from any political quarrels or partisan simulations, and as approved by the rules and regulations of international and continental federations and Olympic committees.
For his part, Minister Nayef Al-Bakri expressed his thanks and appreciation to President Al-Zubaidi for his interest to meet with the ministry's cadre, and listen to the problems and concerns of youth and athletes, and his continuous support for this important segment.
